Marriott International has partnered with Verkehrsbuero Hospitality to convert five Austria Trend Hotels, adding over 1,100 rooms and introducing Four Points Flex by Sheraton to Austria’s growing hotel market.

Marriott International, American hospitality company, has announced signing a multi-deal agreement with Verkehrsbuero Hospitality, a leading tourism group in Austria, to convert five prominent Austria Trend Hotels into Marriott-branded properties.

In a press statement, Marriott International says that this move will introduce more than 1,100 rooms to its Austrian portfolio, marking the debut of the Four Points Flex by Sheraton brand in Austria.

The statement adds that the agreement was formalised in Vienna during a signing ceremony attended by Anthony Capuano President and CEO Marriott International and Martin Winkler, CEO, Verkehrsbuero.

“We are delighted about our new agreement with Marriott International. With this recent signing, we have gained a strong global collaborator with whom we can strategically develop our hotel portfolio. As an experienced hotel operator in Austria, we combine our long-standing expertise with Marriott’s global reach to provide guests from around the world with outstanding hospitality experiences,” says Winkler.

According to the statement, the five properties, currently operated under the Austria Trend Hotels brand, will transition to the Tribute Portfolio of Marriott, AC Hotels and Four Points Flex by Sheraton brands.

Marriott International says that By the third quarter of 2025, Austria Trend Hotel beim Theresianum will become Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Hauptbahnhof, and Austria Trend Hotel Salzburg Messe will transition to Four Points Flex by Sheraton Salzburg Messe.

The statement adds that in 2026, Austria Trend Hotel Anatol is set to convert into Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Mariahilf. The Austria Trend Hotel Ananas will undergo extensive renovations to emerge as a dual-branded property, featuring both Four Points Flex by Sheraton Vienna Naschmarkt and AC Hotel by Marriott Vienna Naschmarkt.

It adds that the Parkhotel Schönbrunn, located near the iconic Schönbrunn Palace, will join the Tribute Portfolio of Marriott, blending Viennese elegance with modern comfort.

According to the statement, with this expansion, the Austrian footprint of Marriott will grow to over 5,000 rooms across 26 properties, representing 14 distinct brands and catering to a wide range of traveller segments.
