Hyatt Centric to expand global footprint with over 35 new hotels by 2028

With rapid growth in 2024, opening new hotels in some of the diverse cities like Egypt’s Cairo, China’s Shanghai, Costa Rica’s San José and Dominican Republic’s Santo Domingo, global hospitality firm Hyatt plans to expand the global presence of its Centric brand by opening 35 new hotels by the end of 2028.

In a press statement, Hyatt says that this expansion will increase Hyatt Centric’s presence by 50 pc, surpassing 100 hotels globally by 2029.

It also adds, that building on 2024 momentum, the brand is strategically expanding across key markets with a strong focus on Asia Pacific, where its footprint is expected to grow by over 75 pc in the next three years.

“As part of our strategic brand realignment, Hyatt Centric is a valuable addition to our Classics Portfolio, which comprises timeless and captivating brands offering exceptional hospitality in the world’s most travelled destinations,” says Emily Wright, Vice President, Global Brand Leader, Classics & Essentials Portfolios, Hyatt.

According to the press statement, Hyatt plans to open the majority of its new properties in the Americas and Asia Pacific, with seven and 10 hotels respectively, scheduled for 2025 and 2026. Marking its debut in Saudi Arabia, Hyatt plans to open Hyatt Centric Madinah KEC by 2028, featuring 130 modern rooms and suites with art and styling elements that celebrate the city’s character.

The statement adds that Hyatt plans to open three properties in Europe, located in France, Germany, and Iceland between 2025 and 2026. In Reykjavik, Hyatt’s first hotel in Iceland will feature a rooftop bar overlooking the capital.

The hospitality firm says that by incorporating local art and cultural influences, Hyatt Centric hotels are designed to reflect the unique character of their destinations.

It adds that Hyatt Centric Cairo West showcases intricate Egyptian sculptures, while Hyatt Centric Guatemala City displays vibrant traditional masks and textiles.

Hyatt says that to foster connections in its social spaces, its dining experiences range from the modern Asian cuisine at Cruise Restaurant & Bar in Hyatt Centric Victoria Harbour Hong Kong to the craft cocktails and small plates at Spaceman, a rooftop bar at Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta.

Moreover, in its Kuala Lumpur property, the hotel’s interiors pay homage to the city’s tin-mining history with bold graffiti art by local artists.

“The brand’s rapid growth aligns with increasing demand from Millennial and Gen Z travellers for contemporary accommodations featuring playful designs, sophisticated furnishings, and socially engaging spaces,” adds Wright.

As per the press statement, Hyatt Centric, with its steadfast commitment to growth, innovation, and immersive hospitality, aims to redefine travel experiences for modern travellers by blending local culture with contemporary comfort.
