Thai Hospitality Company Dusit Hotels and Resorts, which manages a portfolio of 300 properties across 18 countries, will open its second property in the Maldives and its first all-inclusive resort in the country, Dusit D2 Feydhoo Maldives, on July 27.

In a press statement, Dusit says the property is located just seven minutes by speedboat from Velana International Airport. According to the group, the new resort caters to travellers seeking short-haul private island experiences close to the capital.

It adds that the resort will feature 127 villas across seven categories, ranging from beachfront units to overwater options, with sizes between 77 and 306 square metres. Most villas include plunge pools and are designed with indoor-outdoor living spaces.

The statement says that, as part of its all-inclusive offering, the resort will provide five dining venues, premium beverages, resort credits, and daily entertainment. Facilities will also include a rooftop bar, spa, yoga sessions, and a beachfront cinema. Moreover, water-based activities such as snorkelling and diving will be available as well.

The Thai hospitality company says a conference facility accommodating up to 240 persons will cater to corporate and Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) travellers.

Dusit says that to mark the opening, the company is offering a launch package, which includes complimentary round-trip speedboat transfers for two, villa upgrades, one floating breakfast per stay, and 24-hour check-in and check-out. Additionally, members of the Dusit Gold programme will receive additional benefits, including 15 pc off rates.

The company says that the resort will be overseen by General Manager Yogeswaran Veerasamy. The official grand opening is scheduled for the last quarter of this year.
