Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts joins Global Hotel Alliance

Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts, one of the largest hotel chains in Sri Lanka, has joined the Global Hotel Alliance, a grouping of independent luxury hotels from around the world.

Sri Lankan luxury hotel chain Cinnamon Hotels and Resorts has joined the Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) in order to expand its customer base and market.

In a press statement, Cinnamon Hotels says that the group has added 17 hotels and resorts across Sri Lanka and the Maldives to GHA’s portfolio, including Cinnamon Grand Colombo, Cinnamon Velifushi Maldives, and Cinnamon Citadel Kandy.

GHA said to be one of the world’s largest alliances of independent hotel brands, with more than 850 hotels across 45 brands in 100 countries. Its loyalty programme, GHA Discovery, is said to have over 30 million members worldwide.

According to the statelent, to celebrate the arrival of Cinnamon Hotels in the GHA portfolio, GHA Discovery members can earn double Discovery Dollars when making a booking at one of Cinnamon’s properties by February 6, for stays until September 30.

The statement adds that last year saw GHA integrate a number of hotel groups including Lore Group, whose properties include One Hundred Shoreditch and Sea Containers London and Cheval Collection, a British serviced apartment operator.

The statement adds that towards the end of 2024, GHA also added four more brands to its portfolio, Paramount Hotels in the UAE, Unike Hotels in Norway, Sunway Hotels & Resorts in Malaysia and Andronis in Greece.
