Accor, a leading French hospitality chain, has announced a major expansion across Asia with 27 new hotel signings and 8,117 additional rooms as of 2024.
In a press statement, Accor says that this expansion underscores Accor’s strategic focus on premium, midscale and economy (PM&E) segments and aligns with growing regional demand for diverse hospitality options.
New signings include properties across eight countries, from Japan to Indonesia, increasing Accor’s influence in markets spanning emerging and established destinations.
The statement adds that Accor’s key brands like Novotel, Ibis and Pullman are at the forefront of this growth.
Conversion-friendly brands such as Mercure, Handwritten Collection, and Ibis Styles appeal to independent hotel owners, creating a valuable growth avenue, especially within the Asian market.
The statement adds that this expansion strengthens Accor’s established presence, with 495 operating hotels across 13 countries in the region and a pipeline of 239 hotels.
Among the notable signings, Accor’s Singapore portfolio is set to grow by three more hotels, adding over 1,300 rooms, including the largest Mövenpick in Asia.
The statement adds that in Indonesia, new developments like the Kapuk Hills Hotel Jakarta and Novotel Medan further reinforce Accor’s strong position. The 10 hotel signings in Vietnam include the first Tribe hotel, reflecting Accor’s dedication to vibrant, design-centric experiences in key markets.
Japan, another focal point, will see Raffles Hotels and Resorts debut in Tokyo’s World Trade Centre in 2028, alongside the addition of Pullman Tokyo Ginza, enhancing Accor’s premium offerings.
The ongoing development in Asia highlights Accor’s ability to cater to diverse needs of travellers and respond to increased demand for unique, lifestyle-centric experiences.
“Asia continues to be a dynamic and fast-evolving market for hospitality, and we are thrilled to see the growth of Accor’s hospitality offerings throughout the region. The demand for diverse and distinctive experiences is stronger than ever, and our broad portfolio of brands allows us to meet the varied needs of both owners and travellers. The strategic signings we have secured so far in 2024 reflect our commitment to strengthening our footprint and delivering long-term value across key markets in Asia,” says Garth Simmons, Chief Operating Officer of Accor’s Premium, Midscale, and Economy Division in Asia.
