At least once in our life, we have tried to master the art of yoga. From the downward-facing dog to the Lotus, yoga has been known to be beneficial for your body and soul. If you are sick of experiencing yoga the traditional way, fret not, as India Outbound lists the top four unusual and non-traditional yoga classes across the globe on the occasion of International Day of Yoga.

Dog Yoga

Also known as Doga, this form of yoga infuses dogs and yoga. For those not motivated enough to practice yoga due to lack of company, Doga is a type of yoga that humans can do together with their pets and the results can benefit the mental and physical health of both the human and the pet. With the creation of more yoga studios and professional yoga classes, studios have opened up the option to bring in the pets for a yoga session. While the humans can try various yoga positions with their arms and legs,  the pets can roam around and interact with the other humans in class. Both the dogs and yoga have proven to have positive impacts on the general well-being of humans. Hence, clubbing these two together is a sure-shot way of improving the general well-being of a human. After all, who doesn’t love a healthy dose of snuggles and kisses from dogs?

Laughter Yoga

Laughter Yoga, also known as Laughing Yoga or Yoga Laughter, is a type of exercise that originated in India and promotes the use of laughter as a form of physical exercise. Nobody is certain as to who invented it or when it first appeared. It owes its current success to family physician Dr Madan Kataria who modernised the practise and made it accessible to common people. Scientists say that the body benefits from laughing even when one is only pretending to laugh. There is a proven connection between laughing and breathing patterns which makes laughter yoga a happy and fun way to keep oneself fit. Next time, if you walk into a session and see the group laughing without no reason, don’t be taken aback. They are all trying to stay fit by laughing their worries off.

Tantrum Yoga

A new form of yoga that allows the practitioner to let out frustration and anger in a healthy way, the tantrum yoga serves to expel steam and emotion and is typically followed by a blissfully quiet calm. Although this is needed for every adult, it is socially unacceptable for adults to stomp and shout their frustration out. Thus, this yoga class can prove to be a safe haven for adults to vent the negativity out of their souls and relax. A fun and unusual therapeutic outlet for the negativity, tantrum yoga is safe for people to experience their anger without fearing that they will become physically violent. This unusual yoga has been conceptualised by Hemalayaa Behl who invented this form for people to dump their anger out without being violent.
