The Iron Lady of Paris, Eiffel Tower, is all set to offer a dose of thrill to the adventure lovers from May 29, 2019, to June 2, 2019. In the wake of the ongoing tennis tournament a mineral water brand in France, Perrier, has launched an 800 metre long and 100-metre tall zip line flight, Smash Perrier, from the iconic tower’s balcony at the second floor, that stands at 115 metres.

This one-minute long experience of gushing air and adrenaline rush will be launched from Eiffel Tower down till the 18th century military complex of Ecole Militaire. The landing platform has been designed in the form of a roaring lion.

A total of 260 such flights will be organised, offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity of jumping from the monument under guided supervision.

This unparallel experience of catching a glimpse of the city of love and lights while gliding through a cable at 90kmph has been thrown open to a select audience chosen by a unique contest launched on various social media platforms.

Adventure seekers need to tweet #smashPERRIER during the game sessions and the handles with maximum tweets will be declared winners. Adventure enthusiasts who lose the contest need not be disheartened since a second random drawing of candidates will be conducted at the location of the event on the brand’s official Instagram page.

41 years of partnership

This isn’t the first time when Perrier has collaborated with the French Open Tournament. The relations between the two can be traced back to 1978 when the two partnered for the first time.

Perrier also organised a similar zip line in 2017. According to Francoise Bresson, the director of communication at Perrier, the last zip line was a huge hit with the audiences and since then a lot of requests have been sent to them for reorganising the event.

This year the gliding flight event, Smash Perrier, is commemorating the iron anniversary of this sparkling water brand with the Roland-Garros tournament and celebrating 41 years of partnership.

The brand, this year, has also reinvented their symbol representing tennis ball smashing onto a court as a tribute to Roland Garros, the ongoing tennis tournament that commenced from May 26, 2019, and will be concluded on June 9, 2019.
