In a boost to the United Arab Emirates’ tourism, the much-awaited International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is set to be held in Dubai and Sharjah from October 3 to October 20. Tickets for are now officially available.
In a press statement, the ICC organising committee says that 23 matches are scheduled across two venues, between 10 qualified nations, giving cricket enthusiasts an opportunity to witness the world’s top players in action as well as explore the attractions in the destinations.
The tournament will see reigning champions Australia, along with Bangladesh, England, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and the West Indies, competing for the championship title on October 20.
The statement adds that the event will be marked by a spectacular laser show at the iconic Burj Khalifa, the launch of the World Cup marketing campaign, and the release of the event song, Whatever it Takes.
The statement adds that ticket prices start at just AED 5, with premium seating options available for AED 40. Notably, on double-header match days, a single ticket will grant entry to both matches, making it an attractive option for cricket lovers.
The statement adds that in an effort to inspire a new generation of fans, entry is free for all attendees under the age of 18.
It says that tickets can be conveniently purchased online through the official World Cup website, while physical kiosks at both Dubai International Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium will also facilitate offline ticket sales. Details regarding kiosk hours will be shared on the official site.
The statement adds that the opening day features a double-header on October 3, with Bangladesh taking on Scotland, followed by a clash between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
