The Nepal chapter of Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) is all set to host the 4th Himalayan Travel Mart in the capital Kathmandu. According to a press statement, HTM 2023 will be organised from June 6-9 in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture Tourism Civil Aviation (MoCTCA), Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), Nepal Airlines, PATA International, and other leading tourism-related organisations.

The statement adds that Himalayan Travel Mart (HTM) is Nepal’s leading international travel and tourism trade show and delivers  unequalled networking and business opportunities, as well as insightful market information to individuals and organisations involved in various facets of tourism.

Inviting Nepalese and international delegates to attend the event, Bibhuti Chand Thakur, Chairman of PATA Nepal, highlighted the importance of the event for reviving tourism businesses, encouraging travel spirit, and assisting Nepal’s post-pandemic tourism recovery efforts.

‘‘The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating impact on the travel and tourism industry and Nepal has been no exception in bearing massive losses. However, with the much-awaited re-opening of world tourism, we are confident that HTM will represent a significant opportunity to support the post-pandemic tourism recovery initiatives of Nepal and the entire Himalayan region at large,’’ he said.

‘‘We are striding towards rebuilding the tourism sector which has been greatly disrupted and has compelled us to embrace changes brought forth by the pandemic and other crises as in the recent and not-too-distant past. By sharing our inspiring stories of resilience, and ensuring our best efforts on safety concerns as well as strengthening the tourism offerings with lifetime experiences to win the confidence, trust and loyalty of our guests, we are now gearing up to rebuilding the future of tourism,’’ says Sudan Kirati, Nepalese Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation.

The organisers say that as a B2B market, HTM will have an impressive collection of important speakers, global buyers, Himalayan sellers, travel bloggers, influencers as well as national and international media.
