Delegates from 52 countries attended 2024 Convention of Europamundo Vacaciones in Marrakech

As the fastest growing market, India hogged the limelight at the annual convention of travel firm Europamundo Vacaciones that was held recently in the chic Moroccan town of Marrakech.

With over 300 representatives from 95 companies from 52 countries in attendance, Madrid-based travel firm Europamundo Vacaciones returned to Moroccan resort town of Marrakech for its 2024 Annual Convention in Marrakech.

In a press statement, Europamundo Vacaciones, which is a subsidiary of JTB, says that the convention which was being held in Marrakech after a gap of 19 years, was characterised by its dynamic, innovative, and technologically advanced nature, reaffirming Europamundo’s leadership in the tourism industry.

The statement adds that the event’s agenda featured unique moments such as the Opening Ceremony or Marhaba Night, inspired by Olympic values and imbued with symbolism and warmth. The statement adds that the attendees also enjoyed an enchanting Night at the Palace at the majestic Palais Souleiman, experiencing the elegance and rich history of Marrakech.

At the conclusion, a Gala Dinner was organised in collaboration with Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT). The convention featured notable presentations by experts, including Jon Hernández, AI enthusiast, Lucía Iglesias from Microsoft, Miriam Alegría, a specialist in influencer marketing and Josep Ros from Encora, who shared key insights on cybersecurity in the tourism sector. These sessions highlighted Europamundo’s commitment to innovation and technological adaptation.

India takes the limelight at Europamundo Convention

Also present at the event were Khalid Mimi, Director of ONMT for Spain, Portugal, and LATAM, who emphasised Morocco’s significance in the company’s travel offerings and Goro Kido, CEO of JTB Europe, who underscored the international scope of the convention.

The statement adds that the participants wrapped up their experience with two highly successful post-tour trips featured in the company’s product catalog, the Desert Route, offering breathtaking landscapes and cultural immersion, and the Atlantic Route, which explored the coast from Agadir to Casablanca, captivating attendees with unforgettable views and experiences.

Europamundo says that growth was seen in several markets with Mexico being the top performers for the Latino market. It adds that its Global market too saw growth with India being the best performer and Indian travellers outnumbering the rest.
