Maldives to begin ‘Welcome India’ 3-city roadshow in Delhi

The roadshow is scheduled to start on July 30 at New Delhi, go on to Mumbai on August 1 and conclude on August 3 in Bengaluru

With an objective to boost arrivals of Indian visitors, the Maldives is set to begin a 3-city roadshow in India from Delhi on Tuesday. ‘Welcome India’ roadshow will also take place in Mumbai and Bengaluru.

The Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC/Visit Maldives), in collaboration with the Maldives Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (MATATO) and the National Hotels and Guesthouses Association of Maldives (NHGAM), is set to debut a series of roadshow in India from Tuesday.

According to a press statement by MMPRC, the ‘Welcome India’ roadshow aims to strengthen the Maldives’ position as a premier holiday destination for Indian travellers with activities in three major cities.

It adds that the roadshow series is scheduled to start on July 30 at New Delhi, go on to Mumbai on August 1 and conclude on August 3 in Bengaluru.

The statement adds that this high-profile event will bring together leading industry stakeholders from both countries, providing a platform to nurture new partnerships, strengthen existing ties, and showcase the Maldives’ unparalleled beauty and diversity. 

The statement adds that Maldives delegation will be led by Minister of Tourism Ibrahim Faisal, and also includes Advisor to the President on Tourism Development Mohamed Khaleel.

The MMPRC says that ‘Welcome India’ roadshow aims to highlight the Maldives’ pristine beaches, luxurious resorts, charming guesthouses, and rich cultural heritage. 

MMPRC says that India is a vital source market for the Maldives, with tourist arrivals steadily increasing. The roadshow aims to capitalise on this growing demand and solidify the Maldives’ position as a top-of-mind destination for Indian travellers. Visit Maldives says it is confident that the ‘Welcome India’ roadshow series will be a resounding success and further strengthen the Maldives’ appeal in the Indian market.
