Mbappé's influence extends beyond football: Madame Tussauds
Aiming to celebrate his impact beyond football, British wax museum Madame Tussauds is set to unveil a statue of French footballer Kylian Mbappé, one of the youngest players to win a World Cup.
In a press statement, Madame Tussauds says that the statue, created using sculpting techniques, captures his goal celebration and features his official jersey.
It adds that the statue was developed through a process involving multiple stages, where artists collected images, videos, and live feedback to ensure an accurate representation. The attire includes Mbappé’s official jersey.
According to Steve Blackburn, the museum’s Managing Director, the project required months of detailed work, incorporating various media and direct collaboration with Mbappé.
The statement adds that from April 4, children under 16 wearing an official Mbappé jersey from PSG, Monaco, or France will receive free entry to the museum. This initiative aims to engage young visitors and provide interactive museum experiences.
According to the museum, Mbappé’s influence extends beyond football into fashion, philanthropy, and youth empowerment. His wax figure is now placed alongside other football figures such as Cristiano Ronaldo and David Beckham.
It also states that with the help of technological advancement like the integration of augmented reality, it aims to make visitors experience key moments from players’ careers.
