Qualifying rounds for Ironman 70.3 championship will be held in Muscat in Oman on February 4.

Omanese capital Muscat will host 2023 Ironman 70.3 Oman Muscat qualifying slots age group 45 years. The winners will qualify for the 2023 VinFast Ironman 70.3 World Championship that will take place in Lahti, Finland in August 2023.

The distance of the triathlon will test the mental and physical fitness of the athletes. The qualifying slots for the championship will be held in the scenic Shatti Al Qurum in Oman.

It will start on February 4 in front of the InterContinental Muscat in Shatti Al Qurum with a one-loop 1.9 km Swim Route in the Sea of Oman.

Following the swim, the athletes will take part in the 90-km Bike Route. They will head off to the scenic Port Sultan Qaboos and Muttrah Corniche, and Muscat Old Town with its exquisite Arabian-style architecture and Al Alam Royal Palace. It will take the athletes through the rolling hills of Muscat’s Al Bustan area, before heading into the city’s central business district, and ascends/descends into the town of Al Amarat. After a final climb out of Al Amarat, the athletes then race back to the transition zone at Shatti Al Qurum.

Later, the athletes will then go on a 21.1-km (13.1 miles) run through Muscat’s Ministries District, before finishing at Shatti Al Qurum.

According to a press statement, the detailed swim, bike and run route can be viewed at the race website. As the official sponsor, the 5-Star InterContinental Muscat, an IHG Hotel, will form a central hub for race participants, right next to the event’s start and finish location.
