YAR is a music project conceptualised and produced by 1214 Entertainment
Young Asians Represent or YAR Music Festival, the first outdoor Asian music festival in Texas, will be held on November 2-3 in Round Rock, a city near Austin, providing both a platform for independent artists to stage their talent and showcase the rich diversity of Asian music and culture in America.
In a press statement, the organiser of the festival, 1214 Entertainment, says that the YAR initiative embodies the new era of independent Asian music in the US, pushing creative boundaries and celebrating cultural diversity.
The statement adds that YAR is a music project conceptualised and produced by 1214 Entertainment, envisioned to represent the new era of independent Asian artists, where diverse stories and music genres merge to create a live experience beyond cultural boundaries.
According to the organiser, the headliners for the music festival will include international and national artists, all united in celebrating diverse sounds as the festival offers stage opportunities for local independent Asian artists to shine, share their unique voices, and connect with a broader audience in the United States, a popular spot for world concerts.
Hosted at the iconic Round Rock Amp, which is associated with a lineup of national and international acts, from country sensations to big names like Snoop Dogg and Gucci Mane, the YAR festival is a collaborative effort that will bring together production companies, non-profit organisations and local businesses.
The statement adds that these partnerships are key to creating an unforgettable experience for festivalgoers, blending music, culture, and community seamlessly to recreate the vibrant world of Asian artistry.
Night Market
Beyond the music, the festival will feature a vibrant night market, where visitors can sample a variety of Asian-inspired food and crafts, among other things. This market is intended to support local businesses and enrich the festival experience with cultural authenticity, the organiser says.
Among the lineup of artists are Agnez Mo, the most-awarded Indonesian artist renowned for her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence, Justin Park, a Korean-American rhythm and blues (R&B) and pop artist in Los Angeles and Taiwanese artist Kire, who is skilled in music production, fashion styling and humour.
The festival will also see performances by North Star Boys (NSB), a pop band and Asian-American content group, Rei Ami, an alternative-pop phenom, Sunkis, a Chinese American pop/RnB singer whose bilingual songs in English and Mandarin have garnered significant attention, and Tiffany Day, a Chinese-American independent music artist. The statement adds that more local artists are also to be announced shortly.
