Singapore-based Resorts World Cruises has announced a significant rebranding exercise, with the return of StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands to the Asian cruise market.

In a press statement, RWC says that the return of the two leading brands in the Asian cruise market is not just a brand upgrade but also a significant milestone in its long-term vision for the growth of the Asian cruise industry. It adds that it has begun its transition to the revitalised StarCruises and Dream Cruises brands.

It adds that as part of the rebranding exercise, its ship Resorts World One will be rebranded as Star Navigator and join Star Voyager under the StarCruises brand, offering high-quality yet accessible cruise vacations. It adds that Star Navigator will set sail from Singapore on March 7, followed by an eight-month season in Taiwan starting March 28, connecting major ports across Taiwan, Japan, and Korea.

It adds that the Star Voyager will embark on March 26 with homeports in Singapore, Jakarta, Melaka, Bangkok, and Ho Chi Minh City, with plans to expand to more key Asian cities.

The statement adds that the other ship of RWC, Genting Dream will now be officially part of Dream Cruises and will continue operating year-round from Singapore, offering premium itineraries to Malaysia and Thailand, blending urban charm with luxurious sea voyages.

“We recognise that while the market continues to evolve, travellers’ expectations for high-quality cruise experiences remain unchanged. This brand evolution reflects our confidence in the future and underscores our dedication to professionalism and innovation. Over the past two years, we have welcomed nearly 2 million passengers, reaffirming market confidence and strengthening our brand value and competitive edge. With this success, we are now introducing a clearer brand structure that offers a more diverse and refined cruise experience,’’ says Michael Goh, President, RWC.

Goh adds that the transitional mission of Resorts World Cruises is to deliver steady growth with a strong foundation and that since its maiden voyage in June 2022, Resorts World Cruises has focussed on stable operations and market development to lay a solid foundation for future growth.

The statement adds that the transition process from RWC to the iconic StarCruises brand, which was the first Asian cruise line to start Asian cruising more than 30 years ago, is expected to take approximately three months, during which RWC will ensure a smooth transition with meticulous updates to brand identity, service enhancements, marketing strategies, and operational adjustments.

“We are committed to ensuring that both passengers and partners adapt seamlessly while continuing to enjoy an exceptional cruise experience. The return of StarCruises and Dream Cruises represents a new era of growth and collaboration. We will deepen our market presence, introduce innovative partnership opportunities, and explore new business prospects with you,’’ says Goh.

The statement adds that Star Navigator will homeport in Keelung for nearly eight months, from March 28 to November 14 this year, offering weekly roundtrip sailings to Japan and South Korea. It says that with a total of 13 unique itineraries, travellers can select from 41 3-Day sailings to destinations like Ishigaki, Miyakojima, Naha, or enjoy Weekend High Seas cruises. There are eight 4-Day sailings to Naha and Ishigaki or Miyakojima and 25 6-Day sailings that cover various places in Japan and South Korea.

The Star Navigator cruise ship will kick off its season with two exclusive ‘Cherry Blossom Cruises’ in Spring, offering the opportunity to witness the breathtaking beauty of cherry blossoms in some of Japan’s most scenic locations. The highlights include the iconic Kumamoto Castle, one of Japan’s most beautiful castles as well as Mount Yoshino in Kagoshima, home to 30,000 cherry blossom trees and Tateyama Park in Nagasaki. All passengers will receive one free ‘Hanami Excursions’, where they will join locals in festive picnics under the cherry trees, with free flow of sake and snacks, enjoying the magical moments and one of the best life-time experiences under thousands of cherry trees in Japan.

A special highlight will be the Osaka (via Wakayama) cruises, which offer guests the opportunity to attend the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, held once every five years. The Expo is a global celebration and a must-see event for travellers. Cruisers will also have the chance to explore Kochi, a stunning city on Shikoku Island, rich in history and natural beauty. Highlights include Kochi Castle, the lively Hirome Market and other cultural landmarks.

In addition to Japan, Star Navigator will offer itineraries to South Korea, including the iconic Jeju Island and the bustling city of Busan. Jeju Island is known for its dramatic volcanic landscapes, waterfalls, and cultural sites such as Seongeup Folk Village. Busan, South Korea’s second-largest city, is famous for its beautiful beaches, vibrant markets like Jagalchi Fish Market, and scenic attractions such as Gamcheon Culture Village and Beomeosa Temple.

To close out the Star Navigator‘s season from Keelung in November, two exceptional ‘Fall Foliage Cruises’ will take passengers on an unforgettable journey through South Korea and Japan. The cruises will showcase the stunning autumnal transformation, with vibrant hues of red, orange and yellow, set against perfect fall weather for an idyllic and picturesque experience.

Travellers from other parts of Asia can easily fly to Taipei and embark on the cruise from Keelung to Korea and Japan without any need for visas. For those wishing to extend their journey, there is the option to combine the cruise with a few days of exploration in Taiwan, Japan, and South Korea, creating a truly immersive 6 to 8-Day vacation experience.

According to the statement, Star Navigator is being fully renovated to StarCruises standards and has undergone significant upgrades, including enhanced lighting, sound, and entertainment systems, ensuring an even more engaging and immersive experience.

As part of the StarCruises brand, Star Navigator will feature a lively onboard atmosphere, with exciting theme events and parties such as the Foam and Rain Party and the Red Carpet Party, along with a variety of other exciting activities. Bookings for the cruises has already opened, adds the statement.
