The American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA) has announced that its annual river cruising event, the ASTA River Cruise Expo, will take place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, from March 11-15, 2026.

In a press statement, ASTA says that now in its fifth year, the expo will provide travel advisors with access to tour ships from leading river cruise lines, opportunities to network with industry executives, and the ability to experience firsthand the accommodations and dining onboard participating ships.

The statement adds that Elizabeth Gilbert, bestselling author of Eat, Pray, Love will be the Expo’s keynote speaker. Gilbert’s journey of self-discovery through adventure has resonated with millions worldwide, making her a perfect fit for an event that celebrates the power of travel.

ASTA says one of the novelties for the next year’s conference is the introduction of three levels of registration, namely General Admission, General Admission Plus+ and VIP Admission. The registration rates range from USD 999 to USD 2,399.

It adds that General Admission Plus+ and VIP Admission will include benefits such as town hall with Zane Kerby, President and CEO, ASTA as well as earlier access to select dining and educational sessions, priority booking for post-Expo sailings and more.

“The ASTA River Cruise Expo is not just an event, it is an opportunity to transform your business. There is no substitute for firsthand experience, no better way to build expertise, and no greater advantage than the relationships you’ll forge here. If you want to stand out in the travel industry and sell these products better than ever before, this is where it happens,” says Kerby.

The statement adds that only ASTA members can register to attend the Expo.
