As global tourism destinations look to India for revival of their tourism industry, restoration of air connectivity to India, which had been severely curtailed during the Covid-19 pandemic, is vital.
While many destinations have seen dramatic improvements in their connectivity, some continue to lag behind, hurting their tourism industry. In this context, Mauritius is excited about the announcement by full-service carrier, Vistara, which says it will commence five weekly flights to Mauritius from March 26. Vistara will be using the recently inducted A321LR NEO, which offers 12 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats and 152 Economy seats.
The announcement was welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Housing and Land Use Planning and Minister of Tourism of Mauritius Louis Steven Obeegadoo in Mumbai recently.
“I have had the privilege to announce the start of operations of five weekly Vistara flights from March 26 2023 to the travel trade in India yesterday evening, ahead of the official announcement today,” said Obeegadoo.
“Vistara’s flights will complement those of Air Mauritius to and from India. And provide the much-needed capacity on the route as we grow exchanges between India and Mauritius, including tourism, to a next level,” he added.
