The airline will operate four round-trip flights a week between HCMC and Bali
Vietnam’s flag carrier Vietnam Airlines will launch flights from Ho Chi Minh City to Indonesian island of Bali, in a move that will strengthen its network in the region.
In a press statement, Vietnam Airlines, which is a member of SkyTeam network, says it will launch the new service from June 1, boosting tourism, trade, and connectivity between Vietnam and Indonesia.
This marks the second route for Vietnam Airlines to Indonesia, bringing its total weekly flights between the two nations to 14 services.
Initially, the airline will operate four round-trip flights a week between HCMC and Bali — on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays — before increasing to daily service from July.
The flights will be operated by two-class Airbus A321 aircraft, including 16 business class recliners in a 2-2 configuration and 168 economy class seats in a 3-3 layout, says the airline.
According to the statement, Indonesia has emerged as Southeast Asia’s largest tourism market, fuelled by its growing population and strong travel demand. In 2024, air passenger traffic between Vietnam and Indonesia exceeded 800,000 travellers, reflecting a 61 pc increase compared to 2019 levels.
