Swedavia, a group that owns, operates and develops 10 airports throughout Sweden, is focussing on increasing the connectivity to and from western Sweden.
According to a press statement by the airport operator, Västflyg, a local airline, is set to expand its offer of routes by launching a new direct route to Stockholm.
The statement says that starting on October 2, Västflyg will operate the route between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Trollhättan Vänersborg Airport twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
It says that Västflyg, which currently runs a route from Trollhättan Värnersborg Airport to Bromma Airport, is going to grow and add another route that will serve the capital of Sweden, further connecting the western parts of Sweden with the capital to contribute to increased growth for business and offering a smooth transfer further out into the world.
“I am very happy that Västflyg chooses to further expand and add another of Swedavia Airports to its offer. And a new domestic route is of course extra welcome. A strong domestic flight is essential for people to be able to meet across the country and have smooth connections to the rest of the world, whether travelling to meet friends and family, discover new places or on business,’’ says Elizabeth Axtelius, Director Aviation Business, Swedavia Airports.
“We see that there is a strong demand to be able to travel from Trollhättan and further out into the world. Today, there are direct flights from Arlanda to many destinations that our immediate area cannot offer. This means that we are extra happy to be able to present Arlanda as a destination, which enables easier and faster travel for our customers,” says Anna Petre, CEO, Västflyg.
Swedavia says that the new direct line between Stockholm Arlanda Airport and Trollhättan Vänersborg will be operated twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays.
