In a recent update, Uzbek national carrier Uzbekistan Airways has announced the launch of direct flights from Tashkent to Goa from October 27.
According to a press statement by the airline, it will operate the flight two times in a week and will connect Tashkent, Uzbekistan’s capital city with Manohar International Airport (Mopa) in North Goa, using an Airbus A320 aircraft.

The airline says that with this move, the government hopes to boost tourism and enhance cultural exchange between Uzbekistan and Goa.
It adds that the measure is being taken in response to demands by the Uzbekistan Embassy, tour operators, and Indian Embassy in Tashkent along with the Goa Department of Tourism.
“This new connection will not only boost tourism but also strengthen our cultural ties with Uzbekistan,” says Rohan A Khaunte, Minister for Tourism, Government of Goa.
