Turkish Airlines expanded its fleet by 12 pc in 2024 to 492 aircraft
Turkish Airlines, flag carrier of Türkiye, has recorded a robust financial performance in 2024 by achieving a profit from main operations of USD 2.4 billion.
In a press statement, the carrier says that the airline’s total revenue increased by 8.2 pc year-on-year to USD 22.7 billion, with passenger revenue rising 4 pc and cargo revenue surging by 35 pc compared to 2023.
The statement adds that the airline’s strategic initiatives have strengthened Türkiye’s position as a global aviation hub and that Turkish Cargo, now the world’s third-largest air cargo carrier according to International Air Transport Association (IATA), increased its annual cargo volume by over 20 pc.
The airline says that approximately USD 18 billion of Turkish Airlines’ revenue was recorded as export revenue, contributing significantly to the national economy and with total assets reaching USD 40 billion, the company has grown its financial base 18-fold since 2002.
The statement adds that the Turkish Airlines expanded its fleet by 12 pc in 2024 to 492 aircraft and plans to grow beyond 800 aircraft by 2033 as part of its centennial strategy.

The airline says that in addition to financial success, it also expanded its global reach in 2024 by adding routes to Melbourne, Sydney and Santiago, bringing its total international destinations to 299 across 131 countries.
