SriLankan Airlines, the Sri Lankan flag carrier, has been named the Leading International Airline in South Asia at the South Asian Travel Awards (SATA) 2024 for the second consecutive year. 

In a press statement, SriLankan says that this award, part of the Visitors’ Choice Awards category, reflects the airline’s exceptional standing in the region’s aviation sector. 

The statement adds that SriLankan Airlines operates an extensive network, covering 85 pc of the South Asian market.

It says that SATA is a prominent event that celebrates excellence in South Asia’s hospitality and travel sectors, with winners chosen based on votes from industry professionals and passengers. 

The statement adds that this year’s recognition highlights SriLankan Airlines’ commitment to service, connectivity, and the delivery of the distinct warmth of Sri Lankan hospitality on its flights.

Fareid highlighted the airline’s focus on providing seamless connections between South Asia and the world, emphasising the role of customer satisfaction in their continued success.

The statement adds that SriLankan Airlines has also received numerous accolades for its service, including a continuous Four-Star Rating in the Major Airline category at the Apex Awards, based on certified passenger feedback.
