In its endeavour to make the Rainbow Nation more accessible to Indian travellers, South African Tourism has partnered with Ethiopian Airlines to launch its ‘Explore More and More For Less’ campaign.

According to a press statement by South African Tourism (SAT), the campaign aims to alleviate the burden of air travel costs while visiting international destinations.

SAT says that the campaign offers the lowest-ever fares for visiting South Africa from India at just INR 37,839. The airfare is applicable to Ethiopian Airlines’ routes from Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai to Cape Town and Johannesburg and is up for grabs through the campaign period which started in September 1 and will continue up to September 30.

The statement adds that bookings made during the offer period will allow customers to travel at any time between October 1 and December 31, exclusively through the Ethiopian Airlines website and mobile application.

SAT says that under the campaign, travellers can further avail an additional discount of 10 pc on the base fare. Announced at the onset of the festive season, the offer will enable Indian travellers to effectively plan their long-haul journey keeping in mind two significant occasions, Diwali and Christmas.

SAT adds that on the back of strong traveller momentum, South African Tourism witnessed a 43 pc growth from India in 2023 as compared to its previous year.

Building on the increased traction, the tourism board says it now aims to attract more than 100,000 visitors to the Rainbow Nation in 2024.

Early this year, South African Tourism concluded their 20th Annual India Roadshow, moving through 5 cities in 5 days and conducting more than 12,000 meetings on-ground.

The statement adds that collaborative initiatives such as these only furthers the tourism board’s intentions of hosting more and more Indians to South Africa each year whilst providing a value for money proposition to travellers.

The statement adds that when travelling internationally, airfares are often a major deciding factor for families and individuals alike and play a vital role in selecting experiences one can choose to indulge in during their trip.
