In a press statement, Riyadh Air says that the visit includes discussions with Air India, IndiGo and meetings with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for regulatory approvals.
It adds that India is expected to become Saudi Arabia’s top tourism source market by 2030, with the Saudi Tourism Authority aiming to attract 7.5 million Indian visitors annually.
The statement adds that the number of Indian travellers to Saudi Arabia grew by 50 pc in 2023, reaching over 1.5 million.
It adds that Riyadh Air aims to strengthen connectivity and expand travel opportunities between the two countries ahead of its official launch later this year.
According to statement, Riyadh Air has appointed Bird Travels as its exclusive distribution and sales partner.
It adds that Bird Travels will promote Riyadh Air’s services across India, leveraging its network and expertise in the travel industry.

It adds that the airline plans to operate flights to more than 100 destinations by 2030, with India playing a central role in its growth strategy.
