Jamaica Tourist Board has shifted its focus on luxury tourism as the base of future development of the island

Enthused over the proposed launch of direct flights from London Heathrow to Montego Bay in Jamaica, Jamaica Tourism Board is seeking to attract a greater number of luxury travellers from key markets like the United Kingdom and India, thanks to enhanced accessibility and Jamaica’s  potential to grow the international tourism market.

In a press statement, Jamaica Tourism Board states that the direct connection all set to launch in summer 2025 addresses the increasing demand among consumers for convenient travel and offers tourists a finer option to discover some of the best beaches, cultural experiences, and luxury resorts on the island.

The service is also expected to cut travel time, ensure better connectivity for Indian travellers and facilitate greater tourist movement from India to Jamaica.

The statement adds that Jamaica also dominated the world stage as it won six awards at the just-concluded 10th Annual Travvy Awards held at Fort Lauderdale in Florida in the United States.

The tourism board says that the awards highlights Jamaica as a premier destination in the Caribbean for its culture, beauty and hospitality. JTB says it is making moves to attract more luxury investors and travellers through various development programs including high-end resorts, private villas, exclusive retreats, top-of-the-line amenities.

The Jamaica Tourist Board says that it has shifted its focus on luxury tourism as the base of future development of the island, through high-end resorts, private villas, exclusive retreats, top-of-the-line amenities, capturing a refined taste in affluent High Net Worth Individuals across the globe.

Jamaican Tourism Ministry adds that it is also moving to position the hospitality sector to attract more luxurious developments similar to the USD 450 million Montego Bay Pinnacle luxury lifestyle development currently under construction on the city’s western coastline.
