India’s largest carrier IndiGo has received the first A321neo with business class cabin and which will be deployed on its first commercial run on November 14 on the Delhi-Mumbai route.

Marking its 18th anniversary, India’s largest airline, low-cost carrier IndiGo has received its first A321neo, which is its first aircraft configured with 12 business class seats for deployment under IndiGoStretch, IndiGo’s new business-class product for its A321neos.

In a press statement, the airline says that the first IndiGoStretch flight will operate on November 14, between Delhi and Mumbai and will be gradually expanded to 12 busy metro-to-metro domestic routes by the end of 2025.

The statement adds that IndiGoStretch will feature premium seating with a pitch of 96.5 cm and width of 54 cm, designed by Recaro for comfort, featuring a six-way adjustable headrest, 5-inch recline, and electronic device holders. IndiGo says it has curated healthy meal options for inflight dining.

The statement adds that IndiGo A321neo, registered as VT-ICF operating flight 6E 9001 took off from Hamburg (XFW) at 18:06 local time. It will take A321neo around eight hours to cover the 6,027 km distance between Hamburg and Delhi (DEL).

The statement adds that IndiGoStretch passengers will enjoy priority check-in, anytime boarding, and additional baggage allowances up to 30 kg in checked luggage and 12 kg in carry-ons. 

Speaking at the launch, CEO Pieter Elbers said that with India’s economy growing, IndiGoStretch provides a compelling travel option for business passengers.

The airline has announced plans to expand IndiGoStretch to all Delhi-Mumbai flights by January 2025, followed by routes to Bengaluru and Chennai by March. 

With 45 IndiGoStretch-equipped planes joining the fleet in 2025, IndiGo is set to operate 268 daily flights across 12 routes, offering travellers new options for added comfort and convenience.
