Continuing with its expansion overseas, IndiGo has announced direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius, its 35th international destination.

India’s largest airline IndiGo has announced that it will launch direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius from November 19.

In a press statement, the low-cost carrier says that it will be the first airline to start operations on this route with four weekly flights, enhancing connectivity between the two countries.

The statement adds that Mauritius will be IndiGo‘s 35th international and 123rd overall destination, demonstrating the airline’s dedication to enhancing connectivity for both leisure and business travellers.

IndiGo flight 6E 1861 will depart from Bengaluru at 03:20 to land at Port Louis in Mauritius at 07:45 every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. On the return leg, 6E 1862 flight will depart from Port Louis at 09:30 and reach Bengaluru at 16:45 on the same days.

The airline says that this new route will establish a direct link between two dynamic economic hubs, Bengaluru, referred to as India’s Silicon Valley, and Mauritius, a gateway to East Africa.

With the launch of the new destination, the airline will not only meet the growing demand for tourism but will also serve as a vital enabler of trade, investment, and business partnerships between India and East Africa.

IndiGo says that Mauritius offers a favourable business environment across key sectors such as healthcare, education, and tourism and acts as a hub for the African markets while strengthening the bilateral relationship between India and Mauritius.
