Almost 18 years after it began flying, low-cost carrier, IndiGo, which is India’s largest airline, has announced the launch of a loyalty programme, IndiGo BluChip.

In a press statement, the airline says that the loyalty programme will not only provide recognition for these loyal flyers but also the fastest way for them to earn free flights on the vast IndiGo network.

IndiGo says that customers who become members of the programme will be able to accumulate IndiGo BluChips on every IndiGo flight, based on their spend.

It adds that members will also enjoy enhanced travel experiences with  exclusive benefits, as they upgrade to higher loyalty tiers.

The programme offers the highest rewards per spend on flights and ensures easy redemption on every IndiGo flight up to the last seat available, 365 days of the year. Earned IndiGo BluChips never expire for active members, says the airline.

The statement adds that members will earn more IndiGo BluChips when booking directly on the IndiGo website and mobile app and review of tiers for upgrades will occur daily, as opposed to a fixed anniversary.

The airline says that five nominees can benefit from the IndiGo BluChips earned by a member and redeem them on IndiGo  flights.

The programme is designed on the simple concepts of easy to earn, easy to burn, real-time  redemption, and lifetime validity for active members.

Early bird pre-registration is open from now with benefits, ahead of the programme  going live in September 2024.

“IndiGo continues to be dynamic and  evolve with the changing needs and wants of our customers. I am absolutely delighted with the launch  of IndiGo BluChip, our hassle-free, innovative and customer centric loyalty programme. I warmly welcome  all our customers aboard our loyalty programme, carefully designed to make your journeys with IndiGo  even more rewarding,” says Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer, IndiGo.
