Etihad Airways, the national airline of the United Arab Emirates, has inducted its sixth Airbus A350-1000 into its fleet, marking another step in the airline’s strategy to modernise operations and expand its international reach.

In a significant move to modernise its operations and expand its global reach Abu Dhabi-based carrier Etihad Airways has inducted its sixth Airbus A350-1000 into its fleet.

This milestone strengthens the airline’s commitment to enhancing passenger experience, sustainability and operational efficiency as it continues to redefine international air travel.

In a press statement, Etihad Airways says that the aircraft was delivered from Airbus headquarters in Toulouse, France, over the weekend.

It adds that the latest addition reinforces Etihad’s focus on fuel-efficient, long-range aircraft as part of its broader sustainability and network expansion goals.

The statement adds that the A350-1000 is designed for long-haul routes and is among the most efficient wide-body jets currently in operation, with 25 pc lower carbon emissions and a 50 pc reduction in noise compared to older-generation aircraft.

It adds that the aircraft will be deployed on the airline’s newest route to Atlanta, scheduled to launch this summer. The US city becomes Etihad’s sixth destination in the United States, underscoring the carrier’s intention to strengthen its presence in the North American market.

Etihad says that its A350s are configured to support high-capacity international travel, including business and economy cabins equipped with modern inflight technology and connectivity systems.

It adds that Etihad continues to streamline its operations, targeting a younger and more efficient fleet amid changing global travel demands.

The airline has not disclosed the timeline for further A350 deliveries but has indicated ongoing investment in next-generation aircraft as part of its post-pandemic recovery and long-term environmental goals.

It adds that the long-range capabilities of the A350-1000 make it a versatile addition to Etihad’s fleet. This summer, Etihad will begin operating the A350 to Atlanta, its newest and sixth gateway into North America, among the 16 new routes the airline is launching this year.
