Ethiopian Airlines, the largest carrier in Africa, has launched a new passenger service to Hyderabad, which becomes the fifth city in India serviced by the airline.
In a press statement, the airline says that the inaugural flight, on June 16, saw a ceremonial reception at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport attended by senior government officials, ambassadors, distinguished guests and key members of the aviation community.
The airline says that the new thrice-weekly service will operate as follows: ET 682 from Addis Ababa (ADD) to Hyderabad (HYD) on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays; and ET 683 from Hyderabad to Addis Ababa on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The statement adds that this schedule is designed to provide flexibility for both business and leisure travellers, further enhancing connectivity between the two countries.
According to the statement, with the launch of passenger services to Hyderabad, Ethiopian Airlines now provides both passenger and cargo services to six major Indian cities, Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Chennai and Hyderabad, operating over 50 weekly flights.
