Global aerospace company Embraer has secured a landmark order from Japan’s largest airline ANA group for 15 E190-E2 aircraft, whose deliveries are set to commence in 2028.

Aiming to enhance nationwide connectivity, Japan’s largest airline, ANA Group has ordered 15 E190-E2 aircraft from global aerospace company Embraer, with options for an additional five. Its deliveries will commence in the year 2028.

In a press statement, Embraer says that the Global aerospace company Embraer has secured a landmark order from Japan’s largest airline ANA group for 15 E190-E2 aircraft, whose deliveries are set to commence in 2028. , will play a crucial role in ANA’s operations.

It further adds that the aircraft’s size complements ANA’s larger narrowbody fleet, which offers passengers enhanced space and comfort with its signature two-by-two seating and absence of middle seats.

“We are honoured that Embraer’s E190-E2 small narrowbody aircraft will join ANA’s fleet and we look forward to the delivery of the first aircraft in 2028,” says Martyn Holmes, Chief Commercial Officer, Embraer Commercial Aviation.

With Embraer E-Jets have been operating in Japan since 2009, ANA’s order marks the first introduction of the next-generation E-Jets into the Japanese market.

It adds that this aircraft features a state-of-the-art interior with a spacious, quiet cabin and large windows. Additionally, individual Passenger Service Units (air vents, reading lights) provide personalised comfort, ensuring a superior travel experience.

Embraer says that E2 family of aircraft aims to enable a 25 pc reduction in carbon emissions and fuel burn compared to its predecessor.

Emphasising its commitment to sustainable aviation, Embraer has highlighted that the E2 jets are certified to operate with up to 50 pc sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and have demonstrated 100 pc SAF compatibility, thus aiming to reinforce its goal to reduce environmental impact.

According to the press statement, Embraer’s E-Jet programme is one of the most successful in the industry, with over 1,800 units delivered, with operations spanning more than 80 airlines across 50 countries.

It further mentions that the addition of the E190-E2 to ANA’s fleet further strengthens Embraer’s presence in the Japanese aviation sector, supporting the airline’s mission to offer high-efficiency, environmentally friendly air travel solutions.

“The E190-E2 is the quietest and most fuel-efficient aircraft available, whose size perfectly complements ANA’s fleet of larger narrowbodies. Furthermore, the E2’s cabin will appeal to ANA’s passengers as it offers outstanding comfort and space with no middle seats. We look forward to seeing the aircraft take to the skies across Japan,” adds Holmes.

Meanwhile, the press statement also says that ANA’s investment in the E190-E2 signals a commitment to modernisation sustainability, and enhanced passenger experience.
