French flag carrier Air France has announced the return of its seasonal direct flights between Cape Town International Airport (CPT) and Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG).
According to a press statement by Air France, responding to growing demand from both business and leisure travellers, the airline will resume three weekly flights starting October 7. An additional service will be introduced in November, just in time for the busy holiday season, it says.
The airline says that its flight with direct connection offers travellers seamless access between Cape Town and Paris, with the added convenience of connecting to Air France’s extensive global network. The service is expected to further boost Cape Town’s position as a major international tourism and business hub.

“The return of the Paris-Cape Town service offers South African travellers more flexibility and convenience, especially ahead of the holiday season. Additionally, Air France’s sister airline, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, will be expanding its services to Cape Town this winter, further enhancing connectivity,” says Wilson Tauro, Air France-KLM’s Country Manager for Southern Africa.
According to the airline, the seasonal flights will operate on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays and will be carried out by a Boeing Dreamliner 787-900. These seasonal flights are in addition to Air France’s existing daily flights between Paris and Johannesburg.
Meanwhile, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, part of the Air France KLM Group, has also announced its enhanced winter schedule, that will commence from October 7 to March, 30 2025. The airline says that it
will continue with its daily services to Johannesburg and Cape Town, but from December 17, until the end of the winter season, KLM will increase its capacity to Cape Town with two additional flights per week on Tuesdays and Sundays.
In addition to the current daily flights, Flight KL597/598, which arrives in Cape Town at 21:30 and departs at 23:20, KLM will introduce Flight KL595/596. This new service will arrive at 06:10 and depart at 08:05 on Mondays and Wednesdays starting December 17.
