Canada witnessed 33 pc growth in Indian travellers in the recent times

Destination Canada announced the launch of Air Canada’s Mumbai-Toronto non-stop flight. Air Canada is providing special fares for this flight service.

Owing to Air Canada’s year-round service, Mumbai will have a direct access to Toronto for the first time with the launch of this new direct flight. The first flight using a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will land in Mumbai on July 2. To augment the launch, Air Canada is offering special promotional fares for the flights that are valid for travel between July and December this year. Customers can avail them through travel agents, OTA’s and Global Distribution Systems.

Toronto, the capital city of Ontario, is a vibrant, multi-cultural city that boasts of an incredible range of attractions and events. It is home to the world-famous CN Tower where visitors can enjoy a 360-degree view of the city. It is a place where they can experience world-class theatre, opera, and symphony in the pedestrian-only Distillery District. The city is always in an ‘on’ mode, with options of world-class galleries, museums, top theatre productions, Broadway-style shows, outdoor celebrations, and a zany love for its hockey and baseball teams.

Duncan Bureau, Vice President Global Sales, Air Canada said, “Based on the positive response we have had with the introduction of our non-stop service between Delhi and Toronto as well Vancouver, we anticipate the market will respond well with the introduction of non-stop service from Mumbai. This service will be the only non-stop service between Mumbai and Canada and with this, Air Canada now offers the best coverage of any carrier operating in the India-Canada market.”

Pooja Sabharwal, Account Director, Destination Canada – India said, “We congratulate Air Canada on the launch of non-stop Mumbai-Toronto flights. The service has made accessibility from Mumbai to Canada more convenient for Indians by cutting down layovers in-between. With much less time now, Indians will fly up to Toronto and experience best of what the city has to offer. Recently, we witnessed a growth of 33 pc in Indian arrivals to Canada. We are sure that better growth is our way forward.”

Mumbai, being the financial hub, has had a recent interest of Canadian companies investing in India, while Indian companies are setting up partnerships in Canada as well. The option of a direct flight could not have come at a more opportune moment. Also, there are a number of queries and bookings in the process for MICE from the Western Region as well that could swell lucrative opportunities.
