Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB), the tourism promotion organisation of Azerbaijan and national carrier Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) have announced a new joint programme to enhance the travel experience for visitors of Baku, the capital city of the country.

In a press statement, ATB says that from September 29 to December 29, travellers arriving in Baku can use their AZAL boarding pass as a voucher to receive a 20 pc discount on Baku City Tour Bus tickets within 48 hours after their arrival to Azerbaijan.

ATB says that this initiative is part of a larger effort to promote seamless and convenient travel within the city. The statement adds that AZAL, offering seamless and comfortable travel to Baku from more than 50 destinations worldwide, is committed to making the journey to Azerbaijan enjoyable to all visitors.

This further strengthening the collaborative efforts of AZAL and ATB to promote Baku as a welcoming destination.

ATB says that the Baku City Tour Bus, a popular hop-on hop-off service, offers a fantastic opportunity to explore the main attractions of Azerbaijan’s capital, with daily operations from 11:20 to 16:40.

Covering 25 km in just 1.5 hours, the tour features an audio guide available in eight languages namely Azerbaijani, Russian, English, German, French, Farsi, Italian and Japanese.

The statement adds that each ticket includes complimentary headphones, providing visitors with a wealth of information about Baku’s key tourist sites.

The bus stops for two to three minutes at each of the 15 locations, allowing passengers to take photos and enjoy the city landscape.

The statement adds that those who wish to explore an area in more detail can hop off and rejoin the tour on the next bus an hour later.

The route includes key sites such as Port Baku Mall, Heydar Aliyev Centre, Museum of Modern Art, Maiden Tower, Flame Towers and Highland Park among many others.

ATB says that by combining air travel and local transportation benefits, this initiative aims to provide visitors with added value and a smoother transition from air to ground travel, encouraging more exploration of Baku’s attractions.

From the historic Old City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, to the iconic Flame Towers and vibrant shopping scene, Baku offers a mix of culture, history and modernity that promises a memorable experience for all travellers.
