Following meteorological forecasts regarding an approaching tropical depression, which could potentially affect flight operations in the coming days, Air Mauritius, the national carrier of Mauritius, is offering passengers the option to change their travel dates free of charge.
In a press statement, Air Mauritius says that the passengers can rebook their flights for travel until March 31. It adds that in light of potential disruptions, the airline is urging passengers to ensure their cell phone numbers are included in their bookings through travel agency partners to maintain communication.
Air Mauritius says that for updates on flight statuses it will activate a dedicated page on its website.
It adds that this page will provide real-time information on affected flights and allow passengers to manage their bookings remotely, helping avoid congestion at the Call Centre.
The statement adds that the passengers are advised not to go to the airport unless they have been notified about the status of their flights in advance to prevent disrupting airport operations.
