In a move aimed at empowering the next generation of global citizens, Air India, the second-largest carrier, has unveiled a suite of special fares and benefits for students, including up to 10 pc discount on base fares. With these initiatives, the airline seeks to make flying more accessible and rewarding for young travellers embarking on educational and personal journeys.

In a press statement, Air India says that the special fares provide students up to 10 pc discount on base fares on all flights, 10 kg extra baggage allowance, and the option of a one-time free date change upon booking on Air India’s direct channels.

It adds that the offers are available in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class.

Air India says that passengers must be at least 12 years old for domestic travel and between 12 and 30 years old for international travel.

It adds that passengers must be enrolled in a full-time course for at least one year at a recognized institution and carry a valid ID, acceptance letter, or student visa.

The statement adds that student fare bookings are available only through Air India’s website, app, contact centre, and ticketing offices.

“With these new student fare benefits, we are making it easier and more affordable for young travellers to explore the world, connect with different cultures, and broaden their horizons. At Air India, we are committed to supporting students on their educational journeys and to making full-service flying more accessible and a rewarding experience for students,” says Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India.
