Air India, a Tata Group company, has announced signing of interline agreements with four major airlines from emerging markets, significantly boosting its connectivity to Europe, particularly the Baltics, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
In a press statement, Air India says that the agreements, signed on the sidelines of the 81st IATA Annual General Meeting in New Delhi, mark a strategic leap in the airline’s global expansion efforts.
The statement adds that the new partners, airBaltic, Bulgaria Air, Cyprus Airways and Uzbekistan Airways, will provide Air India passengers seamless travel options to 16 additional destinations across six countries.
Air India says that this move offers travellers from these regions easier access to more than 30 cities across India, including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad.
The statement adds that through airBaltic, Air India passengers can now reach Riga in Latvia, Tallinn in Estonia and Vilnius in Lithuania via European gateways such as Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt and Zurich.

According to the statement, Bulgaria Air opens up Sofia, with onward connections to Varna and Burgas, accessible through key hubs like London Heathrow and Tel Aviv.
It adds that Cyprus Airways connects Indian travellers to Larnaca via Paris, Milan and Dubai, while Uzbekistan Airways links Delhi, Mumbai and Goa with Tashkent and further to cities like Samarkand and Bukhara.
