Air India Express becomes 100th customer of Sabre

Air India Express, a low-cost subsidiary of Air India, has signed a deal with Sabre to use its network planning and optimisation software.

Sabre, a leading global travel technology company, has signed its 100th Network Planning & Optimisation deal, as Air India Express becoming its milestone customer.

In a press statement, the American company says that Air India Express, a Tata Enterprise and a low-cost subsidiary of Air India, will be using Schedule Manager and Slot Manager from Sabre’s Network Planning and Optimisation suite to streamline its flight schedules and optimise slot utilisation to create plans that maximise revenue and passenger demand.

“A smart network planning strategy is vital for any airline no matter where they are in the world. But it is especially critical in India right now where record plane orders, new carriers, new airports, and huge infrastructure investments are changing the shape of the aviation landscape,” says Rakesh Narayanan, Vice President, Regional General Manager, Asia Pacific, Travel Solutions Airline Sales of Sabre.

The statement adds that Sabre’s Schedule Manager helps airlines create, modify, and publish optimal schedules based on market demand, operational constraints, and business goals, while Slot Manager allows carriers to seamlessly manage their airport slot requests and allocations. It adds that with the Sabre software, together, these solutions will help Air India Express ensure they are flying the routes their passengers most want. The carrier currently flies over 2800 weekly departures on more than 200 routes and 54 destinations, which include domestic, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.
