New service to Mumbai will operate three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays using Airbus family aircraft
In a significant move to enhance connectivity between Kazakhstan and India, Air Astana, the Kazakh flag carrier based in Almaty, will mark 20 years of operations in the Indian market by launching a new Almaty-Mumbai route on April 20. In a press statement, the airline says that the addition of flights follows its consistent growth, strengthening its presence in both countries over two decades.
According to press statement, the Mumbai route will strengthen the airline’s connections between the two nations, which have witnessed growing economic and business exchanges.
It adds that the new service to Mumbai will operate three times a week on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays using Airbus family aircraft.
It further adds that the first flight will depart from Almaty at 04:30 local time, arriving in Mumbai at 09:55. The return flight from Mumbai will take off at 11:00 and land in Almaty at 14:45, all times local.
The statement adds that the flight duration to Mumbai is approximately 4 hours and 50 minutes, while the return flight will take around 4 hours and 20 minutes.

It adds that since Air Astana’s entry into India in 2004, it has steadily grown its presence, offering nine weekly flights to Delhi from Almaty, with additional frequencies during the summer months.
According to statement, the economy class fares for the round-trip service start at USD 406, including taxes, while Business class tickets begin at USD 1,136, also inclusive of taxes.
