16 Air India flights diverted or return due to Iran airspace closure

More than 16 Air India flights have been affected across key destinations in Europe and North America

Direct connectivity between India and North America has been disrupted due to closure of airspaces of Iran, Israel and Pakistan amid rising regional tensions following Israeli air strikes. Air India has diverted or returned several flights to ensure passenger safety. The disruption comes just a day after a tragic crash involving a London-bound Air India flight from Ahmedabad, which claimed lives of 241 passengers and an undisclosed number of suspected casualties on ground as the plane hit a residential building.
