Groupe ADP, which operates Paris airports has become official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The airport operator will not only ensure smooth logistics of personnel and baggage handling, but also promote the idea of sports amongst its employees.

Groupe ADP, one of the world’s leading airport operators, has become an official partner of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Game, says a press statement issued by the organising committee of the Games.

According to the statement, Groupe ADP, which receives nearly 90 million passengers each year in Paris, will put its expertise in terms of reception at the service of the athletes, the Olympic family and spectators from all over the world.

Paris ‘Airports will be the gateways for the 15,000 athletes, the 208 delegations qualified for the Paris 2024 Games, especially the transcontinental ones. From the airports, a large part of the athletes will set off to conquer their victories and dreams, followed by thousands of delegation members, journalists, supporters and spectators. Along with the entire airport community, more than 5,000 employees of Groupe ADP in Paris are mobilised to put their expertise and sense of welcome at the service of the success of this global event.

Inspired by Paris 2024’s ambition to be more inclusive and responsible, this partnership will rely on two main pillars, says the statement. One is to make airports real places of life, entertainment and celebration, vibrating to the rhythm of Paris 2024. Millions of travellers, as well as group’s employees, and all the neighbouring territories will be able to experience unforgettable emotions, says the statement.

The other pillar, say the organisers, is building the airport of tomorrow, accessible and open to all, at the heart of an air industry that is reinventing itself. Paris 2024 aims to leave a common and lasting legacy for the entire airport community such as the improvement of the quality of rail-air routes within the CDG 2 train station at Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport.

The statement adds that with these objectives, Groupe ADP’s responsibility in the context of this partnership will be reflected in preparing the operational management of routes and luggage, implementing work to adapt the facilities, improving accessibility on our platforms, with a particular and renewed attention paid to people with disabilities. Also, Groupe ADP will commit to increasing support for employee commitment through sport, which has been widespread since 2022, notably through the financing of various individual or group sports projects. This mission has been entrusted by Pascal Gentil, double Olympic Bronze medallist in taekwondo, who has joined the group to promote and share the values of sport and the Olympics among employees and in the regions, and to contribute to the project of excellence in airport reception for athletes and delegations.
